Thousands of children are injured or killed every year because their car seats are not installed properly. According to NHTSA, 46% of car seats and booster seats are used incorrectly (source).

The California Highway Patrol offers FREE car seat inspections and education on proper installation. Call your local CHP office and ask to make a car seat inspection appointment with their Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Try to have your partner come too! Also recommended to ask your parents or anyone else who will be transporting your baby to make their own appointment. Car seats have changed A LOT since they had babies.

**Please don’t just go to a fire station or rely on the hospital staff to tell you how to use your car seat. Unless they’re also a CPST, they’ll just be giving you their best guess.
